This year's exciting exhibition is coming from the Thamarrurr Men's Shed, located in Wadeye in the West Daly Region, Northern Territory. The many featured artists here bring together a wide variety of individual styles and mediums. There are many talented painters, along with pyrography, wood carvings, boomerangs and digeridoos. It is set to be an extra-special exhibition this year as we are very fortunate to be hosting two traditional owner / artists from the Thamarrurr Men's Shed coming down for the opening night!
As always, this is a non-profit exhibition, with part of the sales going toward the Wadeye Men's Shed. This very worth establishment not only offers a safe and supportive place where men in this community can come together, develop their skills and strengthen community ties, they also welcome younger boys, to teach practical skills, and encourage their artistic and creative talents.
Hand crafted screen print textiles will also be on display from the Palngun Warnangat Aboriginal Corporation Womens Center (PWAC) based in Wadeye NT.
