An incredible area nestled in the Alps, right on the French border yet still within Italy, this is truly one of our favourite places to visit. Wherever possible, we try to build a few days in this magical area into our tours. It offers not only a truly unique experience, but also a striking contrast to the cities and towns where we spend most of our time.
A breathtaking region still largely unknown outside of Italy and its neighbouring countries, Switzerland and Austria, the area just north of the famed Lake Como offers an unforgettable experience. Robert Gherardi
I am a second-generation Australian and a proud dual citizen of Italy. My grandparents emigrated from the Alps of Valtellina to Australia in the early 1900s, and I grew up immersed in the Italian way of life - where family, food and wine were at the heart of everything.
This passion led me to study Viticulture and Oenology, turning wine into both my career and my calling. My journey took me, along with my wife Kellie and our daughters, to the famed Barolo region, where we lived and worked for several years. There, I honed my craft, deepened my appreciation for great wine and embraced the extraordinary food culture of Northern Italy.
