LIRICA (trs. Italian): lyrical poetry, opera as a lyric poem expresses the speaker’s personal emotions and feelings, so does this old vine Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon. Viticulturist Lee Haselgrove and Winemaker Robert Gherardi have combined both of their labours from vineyard to cellar, as well as their thoughts and feelings on the expression of Cabernet in Margaret River. In the vineyard, a tiny block of gnarled old vines planted in 1976 are tended with care and precision. In the winery a gentle, old world winemaking philosophy is employed to allow this small batch wine to clearly express itself.
